FIELD: visualizing X-ray images of uniform brightness throughout entire area of stiff screen. SUBSTANCE: screen is made of material opaque to X-rays and light; it has many holes on its entire area arranged so that their axes intersect at one point where X-ray tube anode mirror is to be located. Holes are filled with (1) layer of X-ray translucent filler material 4; (2) light- reflecting layer 5; and (3) phosphor layer 6. With X-ray apparatus in operation, X-rays passed through analyzed object reach screen and first of all pass through X-ray translucent filler layer, then through light-reflecting and phosphor layers making the latter glow with brightness proportional to ray flux intensity.
