FIELD: carbon materials. SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for electrode industry and can be used when preparing constructional graphite and graphite products. 80-95% of molten coal pitch are mixed with 5-20% of thermally expanded graphite until homogeneous mass is obtained. The latter is heat treated in air at 250-350 C for 0.5 to 6 hr, cooled, ground, and molded into work stocks. They are then roasted in non-oxidative atmosphere at 1100-1300 C and graphitized At the temperature at least 2500 C. Apparent density of roasted material is 1.2-1.55 g/cu. cm and ultimate compressive strength 23.0-14.0 Mpa. The same characteristics for graphitized material are 1.6-1.7 and 71.0-80.0, its resistivity being 23.0-31.0 mcOhm m. EFFECT: optimized process parameters. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 3 tbl, 2 ex
