FIELD: technical microbiology, ecology. SUBSTANCE: new strain of bacterium Pseudomonas alcaligenes E7 is isolated from oil-polluted soil of Arkhangelsk region and deposited in VKPM B-7527. This strain utilizes oil, mazut, kerosene, naphthalene, pentadecane, tetradecane, hexadecene, phenyldecane, pristane being at 5-th day at 20-30 C. The strain is resistant to phenol and heavy metal ions also: Mn, Pb, Zn, Mo, Fe, Cr, Hg. Effectiveness of oil and petroleum products utilization by this strain is up to 85%.
