FIELD: locking devices. SUBSTANCE: lock has key and lock mechanism. Made in ribs in the form of coding pads is key code which is equivalent to lock code. Lock mechanism has mode of operation switch and body with guide hole for rod. Located in body are holders and movable control shells having central holes for interaction with key, member intended for connection with operating device, and coding grooves consisting of slots and connecting recesses. Inlet cross-sections of connecting recesses determine code of lock. Installed in passages of holder for possible rectilinear movement and interaction with coding pads of key installed are spring-biased rods secured by means of feelers fastened on them. Rods interact with coding grooves through pins fastened on them. Mode of operation switch is made up of two ratchet mechanisms. They have mutually spring-biased pawls which interact with recesses made in body and control shell. Pawls are located in passage of sleeve installed in body. Axis of passage is located in plane which is parallel to axis of sleeve. Sleeve interacts with control shell through its end. Aforesaid embodiment of lock is of small thickness.
