FIELD: satisfying life requirements, more particularly means for upkeep; of toilets for domestic and laboratory animals, more particularly cats. SUBSTANCE: in order to prepare filler for cats' toilets, original material is silica-containing rock opoka which comprises, wt %: Fe₂O₃ 1.2-3.7; Al₂O₃, 3.9-11.4; MgO, 0.3-2.4; CaO, 1.2-13.1; SO₃, 0.1-0.8; and SiO₂, the balance. Opoka is crushed, ground to particle size from 0.5 to 7.0 mm and calcined at 300-350 C for 10-30 s, and aromatic principles and solid adsorbents are further added in desired amounts. When filler imbibes moisture, it does not become thinner nor sticks to animals' paws and fur, thus affording cleanliness in rooms.
