FIELD: neurology and psychopathology. SUBSTANCE: at first level of brain constant potentials is registered. In this case, electrodes are positioned on skin in temporal or frontal region, parietal or occipital region. Reference electrode is placed in wrist region. Recording is performed under conditions of decreased effect pf skin potential instability. Obtained values are compared with normal values set preliminarily under similar conditions for respective age group and region. Average value is taken for the entire brain. With values which do not fall outside limits of root-mean-square deviation relative to average value, energetic state of brain is considered normal. If values are within interval from one to two root-mean-square deviations brain energetic state is moderately higher or lower. If values exceed two root-mean-square deviation brain energetic state is considerably higher or lower. Method enables evaluation of functional state of given organ in different pathologic states.
