METHOD OF VACUUM-ARC CLEANING OF WIRE AND DEVICE FOR ITS EMBODIMENT Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: equipment for removal from wire surface of scale, rust, lubricants, oxides and other contaminants with the help of arc discharge in vacuum; ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes passing of wire to be cleaned, after welding of end successively fed for coils cleaning through descaler, vessel with viscous oil, successive row of electrodes connected to current source, and units for wire cooling. Vessel with viscous oil is located before inlet seal and cleaned wire is wound inside vacuum chamber. Device for realization of the method has unwinder, butt-welding machine, vacuum chamber, winders, electrodes, arc supply system, control system, vacuum treatment system, bundle, guide, roller, descaler, vessel with viscous oil, inlet seal, valve, unit supplying power to wire, current leads to wire, wire cooling units, guide rollers, turn laying device, bobbin, cover of vacuum chamber and electric motor with reducing gear. EFFECT: higher productivity and quality of wire cleaning due to increased airtightness of vacuum chamber and improved conditions for reduction of iron oxides. 1 dwg
