CUTTING TOOL WITH PLATE FIXING DEVICE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

Abstract RU 2135329 C1

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: cutting tool has fixing device in which pocket cutting plate is secured between upper and lower clamping jaws. Cutting plate has near and far-off lower surfaces for interaction with respective surfaces of pocket. Length of far-off lower surface of cutting plate makes up from 50 to 100% of length of its near lower surface. Cutting tool features sufficient resistance to side loads on plate between clamping jaws during profiling operation. It is obtained due to changing the direction of component of cutting force acting on plate to its upper surface, thus increasing the clamping force applied to plate by jaws. EFFECT: enhanced resistance to loads. 21 cl, 12 dwg
