FIELD: working of metals by cutting. SUBSTANCE: at least two immiscible liquid agents are supplied over separate lines to workpiece being worked or to operating cutting blades of tool. Use is made of liquid agent to reduce friction between cutting tool and workpiece or chips and of liquid agent for cooling of cutting tool, workpiece, cutting tool holder and chips. Agents are stored and prepared separately from each other in individual tanks. When cutting tool and workpiece move relative to each other in direction of cutting place, first friction reducing agent is sprayed to form lubrication film. Then prepared film is sprayed with cooling agent. Quantity of cooling agent is selected from condition of its evaporation in process of working. As a result, friction reducing agent is sprayed on surface free of cooling agent to form lubrication film effectively sticking to it. Device includes two separate accumulation and intake tanks coupled to members intended for application of liquid friction reducing and cooling agents by separate supply lines. Those members are positioned at different spaces from cutting section, member for application of friction reducing agent being installed at larger space.
