FIELD: systems and processes for cooling and(or) lubricating rolls, namely rolling rolls of rolling stand and rolled band passing between cooled rolls with use of water streams as cooling medium and oil, oil-air mixture, oil-water mixture or oil-air-water mixture and also mixtures containing grease as lubricating component.
SUBSTANCE: method is realized due to combination type cooling of surface of band and rolls, lubricating rolls at inlet side of stand when both fluids (water and lubricating agent) are fed to rolls and to rolled band separately. Water and lubricating agent are applied onto desired surfaces in different time and on different zones of surfaces of rolls and band. Apparatus for performing the method includes different reservoirs for water and for lubricating agent and separate pipelines supplying fluid to spraying beams for water and to spraying beams for lubricating agent.
EFFECT: improved cooling and lubricating action due to possibility for optimal usage of lubricating and cooling fluids at lowered friction factor of rolls.
