METHOD FOR DEVELOPMENT OF KIMBERLITE PIPES BY MECHANIZED COMPLEX Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: according to method, ascending entry is driven through center of kimberlite pipe. Rock matter is extracted layer by layer along spiral line by means of mechanized complex which is radially installed from central ascending entry to contour of kimberlite pipe. Filling of worked-out space is performed after advancing of mechanized complex. Driving of laminated ventilation drift is carried out by heading machine along spiral line in ascending pattern. To reduce loss of ore in zone close to contour at irregular configuration of kimberlite pipe in plan, performed simultaneously with driving laminated ventilation drift by heading machine is development of peripheral parts located beyond boundaries of circumference where mechanized complex is operating. Supporting of laminated ventilation drift and stoping runs is undertaken by means of hydraulically operated supports which are installed by self-propelled crane. Worked-out space is filled with material delivered by transportation facilities of mechanized complex. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 6 dwg
