SUBSTANCE: thermally shrinkable material with adhesive base is laid on unprotected sections of steel pipes, after which low-frequency induction heater is placed; heater is made in form of one-layer flexible electric insulating tape with one-layer coils inside it. Then electric current at commercial frequency is supplied and temperature of steel surface of pipes is brought to required level. EFFECT: enhanced reliability; improved sanitation of labor. 3 cl
