FIELD: investigation of stellar system, motion of planets and other celestial bodies. SUBSTANCE: method involves rotation of disk mounting planet-simulating body by means of drive. Body is installed on axle inside container placed in channel on disk surface. Two identical springs are fitted in channel. Container is placed for displacement between sliders arranged between adjacent ends of springs. Compressive force of springs is varied by means of device that couples external sliders and enables their displacement. Shaft speed is measured and varied until lengths of both springs become equal so as to attain critical peripheral velocity of center of body mass on respective radius of its revolution. Then body is set in rotary motion about its mounting axle, its speed of rotation about this axle is recorded together with path of its motion. EFFECT: provision for simulating loop-like orbital motion of planets. 5 cl, 7 dwg
