SUBSTANCE: rail includes in cross section joining of head and flange with web and at least a part of joining line at least of head and(or) flange with web that form angles due to crossing axes of web, head and flange and(or) a part of line of head and(or) web and(or) flange and(or) at least one edge of flange in the form of fragment of oblique cone section of straight round cone. It provides increased smoothness of transitions of curve portions at maintaining smoothness independently upon roll wear, lowered cost price of rail manufacture due to decreased shaping degree of rail at rolling process and increased wear resistance of rolling rolls. EFFECT: lowered cost price of rail, enhanced technological effectiveness, decreased material consumption at maintaining carrying capability in conditions of cross compression, torsion or bending. 29 cl, 23 dwg
