FIELD: water treatment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to floating turbulizable material fouling by microorganisms that can be utilized in processes and installations for fine water cleaning, waste water and sludge treatment, and fermentation techniques. Carrier provides possibility of simultaneous aerobic and anaerobic-nonoxidative treatment of water. In aerobic swirl bed, part of carrier surface is occupied by microorganisms, sorbents, enzymes, antigens normally present in anaerobic-nonoxidative medium. Basic material consists of olefin polymers and copolymers with organic and/or inorganic additives and encloses foamed material core with closed cells and millipore structure, its surface being structured and profiled. Particles constituting material are hollow cylinders 3 to 25 mm long with outer and inner diameters 3-25 and 2-24 mm, respectively, and density 0,4 to 0.98 g/cu.cm. Properties of carrier are controlled by addition of 0.1-0.2% of bicarbonate + citric acid, starch, sugar, and/or activated carbon. EFFECT: intensified process. 6 cl
