FIELD: powder metallurgy, more particularly powder materials for surfacing gas thermal coatings. SUBSTANCE: powder material comprises, %; self-fluxing cobalt-base matrix alloy, 20-80; and reinforcing additive particles of which are cladded with VIII group metal. Reinforcing additive is mixture of boron carbide and chromium carbide, ratios of components being as follows, wt %: boron carbide, 55-70; and chromium carbide, 30-45, reinforcing additive particles are cladded with cobalt in amount of 28-32 wt %. Material makes it possible to prepare coating having high wear resistance and, hence, lower porosity. EFFECT: improved properties of the powder material. 1 tbl
