FIELD: composite materials. SUBSTANCE: abrasion-resistant coating contains, wt%: aluminum oxide 2.2-4.0; titanium dioxide 54.0-74.0; zirconium dioxide 1.8-3.0; silicon dioxide 19.0- 42.0. Method for obtaining abrasion-resistant coating involves producing powder burden by mixing basic dioxides; introducing resultant burden into plasma flow; providing deposition of at least two 0.1 mm thick layers with the use of Ni-Cr compound as substrate; cooling each layer after deposition process to temperature not in the excess of 300 C. Plasma forming gas is gas of following composition, wt%: air 70-75; natural gas 25-30. Coating may be used for strengthening and recovering of parts operating under increased abrasion conditions or in corrosive atmosphere. EFFECT: increased physico-mechanical and operating characteristics of coating due to amorphous-crystalline structure. 3 cl, 1 tbl, 1 ex
