FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: device can be used to measure level and density of oil products and other fluids in tanks during their taking in, issue and storage. Device measuring level and density has two floats of different buoyancy with permanent magnets mounted for movement along acoustic line. Acoustic line is manufactured in the form of string from magnetostrictive material. Damper is installed on one end of acoustic line, reading coil is located under it. Immobile permanent magnet is positioned at fixed distance from reading coil. Lower density float has lower part made in the form of cylinder with axial hole and upper part made of bars arranged on cylinder butt at equal spacing along length of its circumference. Upper float is mounted for movement between bars of lower float. Device also includes conversion unit connected to ends of acoustic line and reading coil. All actions of device are initiated through exchange bus by instructions from microcomputer. EFFECT: increased accuracy and simplified design of device. 3 dwg
