DEVICE FOR MEASUREMENT OF LEVEL AND DENSITY Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: measurement technology; measurement of level and density of petroleum products and other fluids, explosive fluids inclusive at delivery, reception and storage. SUBSTANCE: proposed device includes converter unit which has amplifier-shaper, oscillator, counter, storage register, register wit parallel input and series information shift. Converter unit includes two trigger pulse shapers, address decoder, ready signal shaper, suppressor pulse shaper, tow switches, exchange busbar, four multiplexers address decoder of sensor and "k" sensors indicating level and density. Each sensor is provided with acoustic line in form of string manufactured from magnetostrictive material, read-off coil and two floats wit magnets fitted on them; they are arranged in protective casing. Sensors are mounted in two rows and are shifted vertically relative to one another for overlapping working zones. Bell-shaped casings made from nonmagnetic material are mounted in upper parts of all sensors but for upper sensor; they are tightly closed in upper portion. Floats of sensors with magnets secured on them may get inside casings from lower side in the course of operation. EFFECT: extended range of measurement of level and density at different heights. 4 dwg
