FIELD: acoustic methods of nondestructive test of properties of articles. SUBSTANCE: given type of loading makes it possible to diagnose additionally prevailing mechanism of breakdown of material of article. Proposed method includes loading of articles with indenter, registration of signals of acoustic emission and test of properties of articles by energy parameter of signals of acoustic emission and by criterion Kp found by dependence Kp= lg(Ec/τ2), where EC is energy of pulses, τ - is duration of pulses. Increased accuracy of test of properties of articles and provision for possibility of bringing mechanism of breakdown of material of article to light are achievable technical result of test of properties of articles by energy parameter of signals of acoustic emission reflecting consumption of energy for breakdown of material of article when it is loaded.
