FIELD: test of operational parameters and physical and mechanical characteristics of articles. SUBSTANCE: given process includes loading of tested article up to formation of crack with indenter with change of its indentation by its movement along arc of circle, recording of frequencies of signals of acoustic emission and plotting of dependence of spectral density on frequency that is used to evaluate crack resistance of article. EFFECT: possibility of comparative test of articles and provision for investigation of kinetics of formation and growth of cracks at different depths of surface layers of material of articles. 1 cl, 3 dwg
