FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, particularly, devices for production of deformed continuous castings. SUBSTANCE: device has a mold with two reciprocating vertical walls whose working surface has a hollow accommodating sheet of refractory material. Surfaces of two inclined walls of mold have special milled recesses into which extensible built-up cover plate of refractory material is installed. Cover plate may consist of two sheets. Installed on internal side of external sheet, in recesses of various depth are thermocouples. Made on surfaces of mold vertical walls and adjacent sheet are recesses in which thermocouples are also installed. External sheet of extensible built-up cover plate is made of material with coefficient of thermal conductivity higher than that of wall metal. EFFECT: more comprehensive information on metal state in mold, improved quality of surface of produced castings, reduced time of mastering the technology of shaped deformed castings. 3 cl, 8 dwg
