FIELD: television. SUBSTANCE: digital device for recording/playing of magnetic videotape is designed to process television signal of high definition and incorporates aid controlling position of video information of high priority. Such information is selectively recorded at normal speed on tracks of magnetic tape within limits of sections specified beforehand so that it comes into being along scanning path of head coupled to predetermined speeds of tape reading that are higher than normal speed, twenty times as much, for instance. Elements of input high-priority data can be rearranged or duplicated for recording in definite zones of magnetic tape determined in advance in order differing from reception order. In other case output data traffic is compressed to form visual image under condition of fast playback. Output data traffic in specified system for reception of data traffic coded in correspondence with MPEC standard at speed higher than normal playing speed includes either intracoded elements of first frame or complete group of images. EFFECT: enhanced quality of recording and playing back. 1 cl, 22 dwg
