FIELD: veterinary science, vaccines. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparing live cultural vaccines against smallpox in sheep. Method involves preparing sowing sets of transplantable sheep kidney cells (sublines PO-VNIIVViM) in roller flasks. Formed monolayer is infected with sowing virus at the optimal dose. Infected culture is incubated under roller conditions for 5-6 days and the supporting medium is changed in every 2-3 days of culturing. Cultures at the degree of the damage by 75-80% are frozen at -40 C and thawed at the room temperature. Obtained virus-containing raw is mixed with protective medium of the definite composition at their volume ratio = 1:1 followed by lyophilic drying up to the content of moisture 4%, not above. Invention provides preparing the standard, harmless, highly immune and stable at storage vaccine against smallpox in sheep. EFFECT: improved quality and properties of vaccine, highly productive technology of preparing. 1 tbl, 4 ex
