FIELD: hydrogenation catalysts. SUBSTANCE: carrier is conventionally impregnated with palladium chloride, dried, treated with hydrogen sulfide, activated in gas stream, and matured. According to invention, prior to be dried, catalyst is evaporated for 2-3 hr and, after drying, calcined for 2 to 5 hr at temperature up to 500 C. In addition, before hydrogen sulfide treatment, catalyst is heated in inert gas flow and hydrogen sulfide treatment is carried out by passing the latter through catalyst with flow velocity 10-20 ml/min for 1 to 30 min at 185 to 500 C. Finely catalyst is cooled to ambient temperature in inert gas flow. EFFECT: increased productivity of catalyst and its immunity to sulfur present in aromatic stock. 4 cl, 6 ex
