FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of catalytic technologies for processing raw materials containing nitrogenous heterocyclic compounds, and concerns, in particular, catalysts and a method for processing pyridine and its derivatives into valuable products: hydrogenated heterocyclic compounds. The claimed catalyst for hydrogenation of pyridine and its derivatives contains palladium and copper or silver nanoparticles with an average size of 2-3 nm on an aluminum oxide carrier.
EFFECT: claimed catalyst makes it possible to increase the selectivity of the process while maintaining a high conversion of the heterocyclic compound, as well as to increase the stability of the catalyst in successive hydrogenation cycles.
