FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: brake has aerodynamic fairing of conical box shape following the shape of front part of vehicle body. Fairing is installed on body for turning relative to on-coming air stream by means of power members. These members are hinge-connected by one end with body frame and by other end, with side walls of fairing. The latter is provided with road observation windows in upper part. Aerodynamic brake power members are set into action from driver's cab. With fairing being turned, braking of train is provided owing to increased air velocity head with simultaneous observation of road ahead. EFFECT: increased braking efficiency of high speed train by reduction of energy consumption, wear of equipment and provision of stepless control of braking force. 2 cl, 8 dwg
