FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to feed water from closed irrigation network into open irrigation systems with keeping preset level of tail water. Regulator of water level in water-development works has body with water feeding tube closed from above and below by covers with holes for water passage through which rod carrying discharge valve passes. Chamber fitted with discharge tube connected to valve of level gauge closed by membrane from above is positioned above upper cover of body that is manufactured in the form of inverted truncated cone with calibrated hole in center. Technical result of invention lies in fact that proposed regulator of water level in water-development works makes it possible to exclude possibility of emergence of water hammer, of accumulation of mud in chamber under membrane and fretting of membrane by drifts carried in outgoing flow of water with provision for suppression of its excessive head.
