FIELD: magnetic recording of information; recording equipment; processing of information of measuring and communication systems, computers, sound recording, video recording. SUBSTANCE: method is based on forming signals of binary data units. Data are recorded in form of subsequence of half-period lengths of sinusoidal signals. Subsequences include marker half-period lengths with standard magnitudes of duration and amplitude and information half-period lengths. Magnitudes of duration and extremes of amplitude of half-period lengths are set depending on magnitudes of respective code groups of converted units. Innovation of invention consists in position of vertex of sinusoidal signal depending on magnitude of core groups of units. EFFECT: increased recording density, to 6-8 bits per minimum duration of half-period length. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
