Quality assessing device generates information about error for each character in interval and provides information about error for character interval in order to provide error estimation for subinterval. Quality assessing device converts subinterval error rate into bit error rate for subinterval. This conversion is non-linear function which depends on radio system. Quality assessing device averages bit error rate for complete observation interval and provides bit error rate estimation for interval. Quality assessing device finally compares interval rate estimation to threshold to provide channel quality characteristic for each observation interval.
