FIELD: telecommunications. SUBSTANCE: method involves use of memory unit, and first binary counter for generation of test, control and address signals in parallel code, their conversion into serial code by means of D flip-flop, third binary counter, first and second multiplexers, and electronically controlled gate, comparison of received and test information by means of comparison unit, and judging using comparison results by means of error analyzer and counting of total number of communication cycles between central and peripheral nodes by means of second binary counter, in order to measure number of missed communication loops using reverse counter, and to measure number of non-detected errors and errors which have been detected, but not corrected by communication equipment decoder. Results are displayed on digital indication board. EFFECT: possibility to measure statistic characteristics of digital communication channels. 3 dwg
