FIELD: medicine, virology, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention proposes a composition for treatment of viral infections. The composition shows an antiviral effect and has (2R,cis)-4-amino-1-(2-hydroxy- -methyl-1,3-oxathiolan-5-yl)-1H-pyrimidine-2-one or its pharmaceutically acceptable derivative and 3'-azido-3'-deoxy-thymidine or its pharmaceutically acceptable derivative. This composition shows synergism with respect to an antiviral effect. Pharmaceutical composition comprises the indicated combination and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Method of treatment of mammal or human infected or sensitive to HIV-infection is carried out by the simultaneous administration of the indicated composition consisting of two compounds - (2R, cis)- -4-amino-1-(2-hydroxymethyl-1,3-oxathiolan-5-yl)-1H-pyrimidine- -2-one and 3'-azido-3'-deoxythimidine or their derivatives or by successive administration of these compounds.
