FIELD: biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in medicine and veterinary for treating and preventing conditions caused by disturbances in composition and functions of normal human or animal microflora. Bifid bacteria and lactobacilli are isolated simultaneously in the form of natural human or animal intestinal complexes employing decontamination of intestinal contents from foreign microflora. Sampled material is repeatedly diluted with a liquid selective nutrient medium suited to isolate and culture bifid bacteria and lactobacilli. In particular, allochtonic microflora is removed by adding blood serum material from the same host diluted by 1 mln times. Culturing is carried out at 38 C for 48 hr and cultured material is then transferred on the same nutrient media, which are free of selective agents added. Resulting biomass contains bifid bacteria and lactobacilli that really represent indigenous host microflora. This mass can further be used to restore human intestinal microflora and that of valuable animal and bird specimens. EFFECT: facilitated treatment and prevention of diseases caused by microflora deficiency. 3 ex
