FIELD: production of refractory building materials based on corundum operating at temperatures up to 1750C; applicable in production of refractories, concretes, piece products, joint fillers and gun mixtures. SUBSTANCE: according to the first version, corundum is mixed with binder produced by mixing of aluminum oxide preliminar5y subjected to treatment in planetary or vibro-centrifugal activators with introduced in material energy of 750-4500 j/g by grinding bodies. Produced dispersed aluminum oxide is mixed with zirconium oxichloride saturated aqueous solution or with aluminum salt saturated with aqueous solution with the following amounts of binder components, wt. p. p: aluminum oxide 100; or zirconium oxychloride up to 16.0; or water-soluble salt of aluminum (III) in terms of aluminum oxide up to 4.0. According to the second version of method embodiment, corundum is mixed with binder produced by combined treatment in planetary or vibrocentrifugal activators of mixture of aluminum oxide with solid zirconium oxychloride or solid water-soluble salts of aluminum with energy of 600-1500 j/g introduced into material by grinding bodies, with the following amounts of binder components, wt. p.p.: aluminum oxide 100; or zirconium otychloride up to 11.0; or water-soluble salts of aluminum (III) in terms of aluminum oxide up to 2.0. Finished products with density of 3 g/cu.cm after calcinations at temperature of 1200C, with holing for 4h, have compression strength up to 138 MPa.
