FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: method relates to mining of stratified deposits. According to method, each horizon of quarry field is opened by approach trench which is driven at angle to seam strike line. Transportation route is constructed on operating side of quarry created along approach trenches. Idle side of quarry is formed at angle to line of seam strike by working on operating side. At initial stages of deposit mining operations, created is quarry of triangular configuration in plan by working on operating side and building it up until crossing with idle side. Length of quarry at outlet of seams is determined according to design relations. Application of aforesaid method allows for reducing period of quarry construction and for cutting capital expenses for putting quarry in operation. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 12 dwg
