SUBSTANCE: converter has energy storage capacitor incorporating K capacitors and K-1 diodes, charge level switching regulators, 1≤M≤K branching and 1≤N≤K integrating switches; some design versions have also selector switch, input and output inductance units, diode, additional energy storage capacitors, low-frequency filter, rectifier, and high-voltage pulse shaper. Converter incorporates provision for reducing output voltage ripples and facilitating excitation and stabilization of welding arc. EFFECT: reduced mass and size, improved power capacity of converter. 11 cl, 8 dwg
