METHOD FOR PRODUCING BRISTLY ARTICLE BY INJECTION MOLDING AND BRISTLY ARTICLE PRODUCED BY SUCH METHOD Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of bristly articles. SUBSTANCE: method involves introducing bundle of bristles into channel of casting mold half for bristle holder; melting bristle holder end directed into molding cavity to form enlarged part; closing casting mold and injecting synthetic bristle holder melt into casting mold; setting space between bundle of bristles and channel inlet so as to provide discharge of air and synthetic melt degassing product through channel. At least a portion of length of monofilaments is surrounded with melt which does not penetrate into channel. Section of enlarged portion exceeds section of bundle or group of bristles. Bristly article produced by such method has at least one bundle of bristles. Enlarged portion of bundle is spaced from surface of bristle holder at bundle side by distance c which is approximately equal to portion of bristle length thermally weakened upon melting of monofilaments. EFFECT: improved quality of bristly articles by strengthened fastening of bristles and minimum consumption of material. 16 cl, 10 dwg
