FIELD: ceramic industry. SUBSTANCE: sintered products from surface- modified powder are prepared by dispersion of nonocrystalline powder in water and/or polar organic solvent as dispersion medium in the presence of at least one low molecular organic compound containing at least one functional group capable of reaction or interaction with groups present in powder particles, and dispersion medium is then removed and compound is processed to form raw product. Processing into raw product is carried out prior to removing dispersion medium or after removing it and sintering the product. Peculiar feature of the claimed method involves using nonacrystalline metallic and/or ceramic powder which comprises less than 1% of particles having grain size deviating by more than 40% from average particle size and which contains no particles the size of size which deviates from average particle size by more than 60%. EFFECT: effective control of formation of particle agglomeration and high content of dry matter during wet processing operation at lower sintering temperatures. 25 cl, 5 ex
