FIELD: chemistry of organosulfur compounds. SUBSTANCE: method comprises treating yprite with aqueous alkali solution in hydrophilic solvent, e.g. dimethyl sulfoxide or hexamethyltriamidophosphate. Reaction is carried out under conditions of ultrasound treatment at frequency of 22 kHz. Alkali to yprite to water ratio is 1:0.5:(1.6-3) and it is not used for 2-30 minutes depending on type of alkali and solvent at yprite conversion of 99.999 % and formation of divinyl sulfide. Method makes it possible to attain deep desactivation of yprite. EFFECT: more efficient utilization of yprite at high process rate and selectivity. 2 cl, 4 ex
