FIELD: chemistry of organosulfur compounds. SUBSTANCE: method comprises treating yperite with alkali using tetraethoxysilane as coagent. Process is carried out in excess of the latter on heating and stirring with low-boiling products, e. g. alcohol and divinyl sulfide formed during reaction and also excessive amount of tetraethoxysilane being distilled simultaneously on completion of reaction. Method allows for complete conversion of yperite and affords high yperite dehydrochlination reaction rate. Method uses industrially accessible stock and repeated use of excessive amount of tetraethoxysilane. EFFECT: more efficient utilization method. 2 cl, 3 ex
