FIELD: medicine, namely stomatology. SUBSTANCE: method includes anesthesia of mucous membrane of oral cavity at place of compact plate perforation (procedure is performed in left- and right-hand jaws) between sixth and seventh teeth. Compact plate is trepanized by means of perforator from vestibular side at distance of 0.5-0.7 cm below gum edge at place of the smallest width of compact substance, namely at half the distance of mandibular canal from mental hole. Perforator diameter is selected to be equal to diameter of injection needle through which 1.5-2.0 ml of drug is introduced into spongy substance through hole in compact substance by means of syringe. Then needle is removed from porous substance, and tomography of mandibular canals is performed. Mandibular canal width is measured. If it is less than 4 mm narrowing of canal is diagnosed, which is indication for dislocation of damaged branch of mandibular nerve. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of diagnostics. 1 dwg
