FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurosurgery, maxillofacial surgery and dentistry, and human anatomy. It involves palpation of visual anatomical landmarks: mandibular condyle, retro-molar fossa, lower jaw angle. X-ray-contrast markers are placed on visualized anatomical landmarks. Skull X-ray in the lateral projection is performed. X-ray image is marked with graphical marking by connecting the points visualized by previously installed X-ray contrast markers to form sections: first - between the angle of the lower jaw and the retro-molar fossa, the second - between the middle of the condyle of the lower jaw and the border of the front and middle one-third of the first segment. Point is marked, which is simultaneously a front and middle one-third of the first segment, a point of puncture and cannulation of the lower alveolar nerve and a projection of an internal opening of the canal of the lower jaw. Second segment is determined which defines the direction of the mandibular canal.
EFFECT: claimed invention enables more accurate determination of an internal opening and a mandibular canal in order to minimize complications arising from puncture and cannulation of the lower alveolar nerve.
