METHOD OF PROPHYLAXIS OF DIABETIC RETINOPATHY Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: method includes revealing in patient with diabetes mellitus, without clinical manifestation of angioretinopathy, of increase of time of papula resorption (from 1% solution of fluorescence introduced to under sclera conjunctiva in amount of 0.1 ml) by 15 % and above; argon-laser coagulation of retina round disk of optic nerve not closer than 1000 mcm to it, and also along temporal vascular arcades and in rear pole through 1500-2500 mcm at distance of 2000 mcm from macula. Parameters of laser action: energy 100-250 мкм, diameter of focal spot 50-150 mcm (at zones of arcades 100-150 mcm, closer to macula 50 mcm), exposure for 0.08-0.1 s, number of coagulants 60-80. Criterion of efficiency is production of coagulants of the second order. EFFECT: higher quality of prophylaxis of diabetic retinopathy.
