FIELD: fire-fighting equipment, in particular, equipment using combustion inhibitor such as highly dispersed aerosol solid particles produced upon combustion of pyrotechnic composition and released into volume to be protected from fire. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has cooling cylinder and casing, which are positioned in axial alignment one with respect to another so as to define annular gap between them. Heat-insulated layer is disposed within casing, which is closed with cover incorporating igniter and is provided with equally spaced outlet openings. Pyrotechnic blasting cartridge is positioned in casing. Auxiliary metal shell is axially positioned on end of pyrotechnic blasting cartridge under cover in spaced relation to it so as to define receiver. Such construction provides reliable stable generation of fire-suppressing mixture which is intensively cooled within cooling cylinder for effective suppression of fire zones. EFFECT: enhanced reliability in operation, improved constructional strength, ecologically clean operation and recycling of fire-suppressor upon termination of employment. 4 dwg
