FIELD: transport engineering; headlight guards. SUBSTANCE: device has movable grid connected with drive. Grid consists of horizontal strips whose lower and upper planes are provided with light reflecting and light absorbing coatings, respectively. Drive changes angle of strip in front plane. It can be made in form of electromagnetic mechanism with step locking of strip turning angle at low and high beam, or with stepless adjustment of such angle. Proposed device provides protection of headlight when vehicle is riding with headlights ON precludes blinding of driver of on-coming vehicle at dark hours without decreasing illumination of road.
