FIELD: transport engineering; bicycles. SUBSTANCE: calliper brake has two levers hinge-mounted on bicycle fork stays. Brake shoes are installed on levers for adjustment by plates. Cable hinge connected with central cable is connected with ends of levers. Central cable is operated by brake lever installed on handlebar tube. Lever attachment hinge joints are arranged in middle part of each lever. Levers are arranged within the limits of outer surfaces of fork stays. Brake shoes are secured on upper horizontal arms of levers by means of plate. Cable passing over levers from outside is secured on lower arms of levers. Lower arms of levers are rounded off towards wheel rim. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and safety of brake system. 2 cl, 1 dwg
