FIELD: medicine; applicable in prognostication of neurologic complications in severe forms of diphtheria in children. SUBSTANCE: method is based on assessment of products of specific antibodies and formation of circulating immune complexes. Determined in patient's serum is concentration of IgM, non-specific circulating immune complexes and level of diphtheria toxic in composition of circulating immune complex. If level of circulating immune complex equals 0.135-0.180 arbitrary units, toxic level of 0.153-0.200 Lf/ml and level of IgM equalling 1.85-2.02 g/l, presence of generalized combined symptomatology and severe wavy nature of course of neurologic complications is prognosticated. With toxic level of 0.506-0.678 Lf/ml, level of circulating immune complexes of 0.0705-0.105 units, level of IgM of 1.00-1.28 g/l, regress of neurologic symptomatology is prognosticated in late phase of disease. EFFECT: highly informative, simple in realization, objective in results with reduced term of treatment in hospital.
