COMMUNICATION LOCK Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: security equipment, in particular, devices for calling, talking and unlocking entrance doors. SUBSTANCE: apartment number is chosen by means of touch pad switch array with infrared emitters and receivers. Called number is displayed in indication board and is checked with respect to presence in admittance list and absence in forbidden list. Admittance and forbidden lists are stored in memory unit and are consulted by means of microcontroller. Then chosen number is sent to alarm unit and then to communication line. User sets decode this message, so that addressee connects its talking unit to communication line. While this connection is kept, user may initiate signal for unlocking electromagnetic lock. Lock can also be unlocked by code which is entered from touch pad switch array and remote key. Personal codes of users, numbers of remote keys and text messages are also stored in memory unit. Memory update unit also has reading unit and mobile memory unit which is connected to reading unit. Character-based indicator provides possibility to display seven-line signs for current condition and text messages using array of light-emitting diodes.
