FIELD: methods of production of sorbents based on porous natural materials (opoka and others); applicable in final purification of drinking water, heavy metals, oil products and other compounds. SUBSTANCE: method in that after preliminary drying of initial material, it is crushed, treated with modifying reagent-solution of NaOH, or Na2CO3, or Ca(OH)2. Heat treatment is carried out at temperature of 1000-1250 C sufficient for conversion of clay components into shard. EFFECT: produced strong chemically stable sorbent.
