FIELD: foundry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for closing mold in pressure die casting machine includes stationary and movable mold clamping plates carrying tool halves and feed spindles mounted with possibility of free motion in one direction on stationary mold clamping plate. Apparatus includes rotation drive for moving said spindles and hydraulic cylinder-piston unit engaging with spindles for creating closing effort. In order to provide accelerated motion and transfer effort of movable mold clamping plate only feed spindles are used. In variant mold closing apparatus includes two types of piston-stand units. Each unit of multiplicator consists of piston-multiplicator and valve casing. In first operational position of hydraulic system accelerated closing is realized. In second position of system closing pressure increases. In third position closing pressure lowers and working liquid drains from cavity of multiplicator. EFFECT: creation of quick motion for closing-opening mold at providing high pressure and lowered mass of apparatus. 8 cl, 4 dwg
